Overview of Ormiston Beachcroft Academy
It is a common misconception that the qualifications earned in an Alternative Provision (AP) setting are in some way different to those earned in a mainstream school. Please rest assured, pupils in AP will sit the same exams, take the same tests, and will be required to submit the same coursework as their mainstream counterparts. The level of challenge and dedication a pupil needs to succeed is exactly the same.
Our curriculum is designed to create a good level of balance between subjects that are academic, vocational, creative and physical.
Our core subject offer of GCSEs includes English Language and English Literature, Maths and Science (double award)., Upon admission, pupils have the opportunity to choose options from three blocks (three subjects), again this is to ensure that the curriculum supports their pathway aspiration.
Running alongside this core offer we have a number of options and vocational courses open to students. These vary from year to year based on demand and, to ensure that we deliver a bespoke offer where possible, this includes Geography, History, Sociology, Home Cooking Skills, IT, Creative iMedia, Art, Sport Science, and E Sport.
